Our School

Welcome to Bing Wong Elementary, home of the tigers.

At Bing Wong, all are accepted and excellence is expected.  It is our daily goal to create a safe and welcoming environment where all of our stakeholders can thrive.

We are intentional in providing career exploration opportunities for our scholars based on the interests of our scholars, staff and the career pathways of our secondary feeder schools. We are intentional about the success of the Bing Wong community and take pride in our inclusive approach to supporting the achievement of all. Our core values center around:

  • High expectations for scholar and staff performance
  • Vital partnerships with families, community and employers
  • Cultural proficiency
  • Learning experiences beyond traditional boundaries of where and when learning occurs
  • Safe, respectful and welcoming environments

Bing Wong Elementary School serves over 600 scholars attending kindergarten through sixth grades. The school welcomes mainstream, dual immersion and special education scholars, providing each with high quality instruction in Common Core State Standards and 21st Century Skills (Communication, Collaboration, Creativity and Critical Thinking). Each day, nearly 80 staff members support the work of educating scholars. All of our scholars are directly involved in the school’s STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) programs and Career Exploration programs. Additionally, everyone in the Bing Wong community is committed to performing at least 10 hours of volunteering/community service and each scholar is expected to participate in at least one extra curricular interest.

Bing Wong values community partnerships and have been collaborating with Curtis Middle School and Indian Springs High School to create a K-12 career pathway pipeline in the fields of Engineering, Design, Machining and Manufacturing and Healthcare. Within the Healthcare pathway, this cluster of schools exposes students to careers in Patient Care, Biotechnology, Community and Public Health. In 20-21 we began working with San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools to promote instructional technology and STEM/STEAM in school.

In addition to academic instruction, the school emphasizes character education teaching scholars the value of community service, personal and civic responsibility. In accordance with a district wide focus, the staff implements an evidence-based PBiS (Positive Behavior Interactions and Supports) system and take a restorative approach to resolving conflicts and correcting behavior.

Beyond the school day, Bing Wong hosts engaging before and after school programs through CAPS which provide scholars with academic and recreational activities from 7:30-8:25 am and 3:30-6pm daily.

Bing Wong Elementary School makes a concerted effort to embrace engagement through making learning relevant. Career exploration with a focus on academic standards allows scholars to envision a more prosperous future which helps to develop high levels of hope. Through the Career Simulation Center, students are not only able to learn skills, but they gain confidence in the idea that they can succeed in a high paying career. We would not be able to do this work without the support of our school adopter, Garner Holt Productions and the many community partners we have.

Sincerely,
Dorothy McIntosh
